Maureen Harwood, who was recently named Coach of
the Year by her peers, led her Oregon Episcopal School boys varsity single and
doubles teams to victory in the Class 4A State Championships on May 18th. The
win marks the second year in a row the team has won States at the helm of
Maureen’s instruction.
Fellow PAC coach Jim Martin joined Maureen on
the court sidelines in the third set. Jim, coach of Valley Catholic’s boys and
girls tennis teams and personal tournament coach, provides lessons to OES’ Josh
Yuan. Two other students of Jim’s also took home titles at States—Kaitlyn
Lomartire and Matt Biggi, both of Valley Catholic, took home second and third
in singles respectively.
