Campers Had a Ball at PAC's June Tennis Camp!

Portland Athletic Club’s Tennis Camp Session 1 was a great success! We had just about every spot filled with kids ranging in ages (5 to 15) and skill levels (beginner to advanced). Coaches Chase and David led campers through a wide range of fun, tennis-oriented drills and games, with plenty of breaks for popcorn, lunch, and even popsicles! Many of the kids had such a blast that they immediately signed up for the July and/or August Camps, as well. Our pool is officially open now, so campers are invited to bring their bathing suits if they choose to cool off!

Need more reasons to sign up?

1.     Campers receive expert instruction from USTA-certified coaches with years of experience to help perfect their tennis game.
2.     PAC camps provide an outlet for campers to stay physically active and healthy during lazy summer months away from school.
3.     Campers will meet new friends, socialize, and build confidence all while learning skills that they will carry on through life, such as teamwork and sportsmanship.
4.     Most importantly, PAC’s emphasis is on FUN and bringing a smile to everyone’s face. Our goal is to provide a positive way for campers to channel their energy and enjoy themselves in a pressure-free, non-competitive atmosphere.

As an added bonus, all campers will receive a coupon to take two free group lessons at PAC at any time. Camps are filling fast so call to sign up today! (503) 292-2649

Portland Athletic Club Pros Maureen Harwood and Jim Martin Lead Tennis Teens to Victory

Maureen Harwood, who was recently named Coach of the Year by her peers, led her Oregon Episcopal School boys varsity single and doubles teams to victory in the Class 4A State Championships on May 18th. The win marks the second year in a row the team has won States at the helm of Maureen’s instruction.

Fellow PAC coach Jim Martin joined Maureen on the court sidelines in the third set. Jim, coach of Valley Catholic’s boys and girls tennis teams and personal tournament coach, provides lessons to OES’ Josh Yuan. Two other students of Jim’s also took home titles at States—Kaitlyn Lomartire and Matt Biggi, both of Valley Catholic, took home second and third in singles respectively.

We are extremely proud to count Maureen and Jim as part of our PAC family! Both accomplished instructors run tennis clinics and lessons here all week long. Call today to learn from the best! (503) 292-2649
